Success Training Bible Study - Genesis Chapter 8
A new creation
a success training Bible study of Genesis chapter 8
Chapter 8 begins, “and God remembered Noah...”. This is the mark of a new era in the history of the relationship of God and man. The world up to that point had been judged and punishment had been meted to those whose lot was destruction. Now the world is a new creation.
We must note in this success training Bible study that Noah’s faithfulness and his willingness to follow the direction of his Holy Lord was rewarded by the salvation of his family. This same image and definition is conveyed by Paul in his statement in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17 (NKJV). “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Noah and his family had been sheltered under the cover of God’s Ark, God’s covenant. Now, God’s people are sheltered under a new covenant, the shed Blood of Christ. Just as Noah’s belief, acceptance and faith in the provision of Almighty God saved him and his family, so are we also saved, by our belief, acceptance and faith in the Grace of God through Jesus Christ. We, who are in Christ, are new creatures. All of the old stuff in our lives is passed away. We are, much the same as Noah, new creatures living in a new world. Enjoying the New Creation Noah could have settled into a life of ‘Ark living’. He could have remained there, a new person in a new world, neither moving forward nor backward, satisfied that he had been saved. But, thank God, he didn’t retreat from his new world. He ventured out on a mission of new discovery with a renewed dedication to Almighty God. This is truly the point of this success training Bible study. Here, in a new environment, Noah first gave a sacrificial offering for God’s provision in his life. He could now live a life filled with the love and provision of a God whose desire was for him to explore, discover and enjoy his new world and everything in it. We, as Christian believers, need to do the same. When we accept Christ as our Savior, we also accept His love and provision in our life. He has given us a new beginning and dominion over our world. He has provided for us everything that we could ever need or want. It is up to us to explore, discover and enjoy all that God has provided for us in our new world as new creations in Christ.
