Success Training Bible Study - Intro to Genesis Chapters 4 & 5

success training Bible study

I have grouped chapters 4 and 5 together for brevity only. This is not to diminish the excellent information but to bring us to another topic.

The topic of the 4th chapter of Genesis is the derivation of the human race. I have basically abbreviated this discussion for two reasons. The first is that this is the seed of many heated conflicts throughout the ages that still rages today. As is true with a great number of biblical truths, it is almost impossible to get two Christians to agree on this. This is a topic that you should study but for the specific theme of this success training Bible study, it’s inclusion does not hold a great deal of significance. Our purpose in this study is God’s desire for our prosperity.

The answers to these age old questions are found here and in the first chapters of the Book of Genesis. Read and meditate on Chapter 1 verse 26 and 26.

Every one of us needs to get in touch with the premise of Genesis Chapter 5 of this success training Bible study. We need to understand from these words that, in coming to grips with life, we have but two alternatives. We can live our lives in the image of our Holy Creator and enjoy the bounty that He has in store for us or we can live our lives in the image of sinful man and perpetuate our separation from the source of all that is truly good and holy. We can come to grips with the ever present principles of physical death or we can live with the reassurance of life eternal in the grace and favor of God through Jesus Christ.

As we read the genealogy of the family of Adam, we are constantly reminded of the fate of man in his sinful state - and he died - is repeated after each persons mention until we reach Enoch - a righteous man. His walk on earth was so close to God that he was always in God’s favor and he did not experience death. He simply was and then was not. The New Testament writer tell us the Enoch, like Elijah, were translated. They didn’t suffer the pain of death but were taken from earth directly to Glory.

This again reinforces the fact that when we make a concerted effort to walk in the path of righteousness, when we keep our eyes, our thoughts and our hearts on Jesus, we are assured a life eternal in the embrace of our Holy Savior and God.
